Chicago Sub Zero Weather

I know this is a food blog, but because I am from Chicago and my epicurean aesthetic hails mainly from Chicago, I thought I would share with you some photos I found online as well as some family photos depicting the recent weather as well as a few from my memorable winters. Weather caused by the polar vortex is not all pleasant to be in for an extended period, but it can be hauntingly beautiful.

The photos on the gallery are the Chicago Skyline; Me, my brother and my mother playing in the blizzard of ’69; Michigan Avenue Bridge with the U.S., Illinois and Chicago flags braving the storm.

Would not want that job!

Frozen shores.

Things that should not freeze: The train — inside the train that is and toilet water.
